The Creative extension technique is applied using 100% human hair called “Creative Hair” from China hair . This hair has been applied to celebrities like Paris Hilton, Beyonce among others to create a natural and refine look.

Creative Ring Extensions Course
This course covers adding extenensions using the ring system. This system provides a finish similar to that of bonding but is a resin/glue free system.
It is iddeal for adding high/low lights, volume and lenghth to natural hair.
Human hair or synthetic hair can be used as the extensions.
Technicians are advised to select a hair texture and colour that is complimentary to the clients own hair unless a fashion statement is to be made by using a bright contrasting colour or even siliver and gold hair.

Prior knowledge or training required

Course participants do not require previouse training or experience of hair extensions techniques although this is dessirable and some hairdressing training and experience is required.

A full consultation record must be kept. This should include list of questions that will assist you to come to a decision as to whether there are any medical or other reasons whereby hair extensions might not be suitable for your client. E.g. Alopecia Areata, Cut and abrasions, Infestations and Migraine sufferers ect.

Should you have any reason for concern, DO NOT carry out hair extensions. If you should find infectious conditions and infestation on the scalp you MUST avoid carrying out any service on the client as you can cross infect yourself and other clients in the salon.

Update all record cards. This should state the date, type of service and products used and the final result.

Micro Rings are available in different sizes and colours. The size variation will affect the density of hair extension strands that are attached, and should be selected according to the clients natural hair thickness and texture.

Materials Required :
 Gown,  Micro Rings
 Micro-Clamp Pliers (Connector/Disconnector)
 Needle and Thread (of suitable colour)
 Bulk hair/wefted hair,   Cutting and styling tools and products.

This technique takes up to 2-3 hours to complete.

Clients can expect Micro Ring Extensions to last from 6 to 8 weeks or longer depending on hair texture and rate of natural growth.

Step by Step
Demonstration and practice making pre-bonded extenensions to use with ring system
Full Head- section hair appropriately, it is important that sections are uniform in size.
Leave hair at natural partings and hairline to disguise the rings.
Pull natural hair through the micro ring using the latch-hook micro needle.
Pull the extension hair into the ring and clamp shut the micro clamp pliers.
Repeat as needed thoughout the section.
Repeat until full head is covered.
Highlights-add rings and hair randomly to achieve desired look.
Volume-add rings and hair densely.
Wefted hair-sew rings to wefts.
Use the latch-hook micro-needle to pull natural hair though the rings in opposite direction.
Clamp rings using the micro-clamp pliers.
Style the trim as normal.
Removal techniques-by using the micro ring pliers which also acts as the disconnector gently squeeze the side of the micro ring to create a small opening which then allows you to gently remove both the extension and the micro ring from the clients hair.
Gently comb/brush hair before washing and conditioning.

On removal clients will notice a small amount of hair shedding. This is natural process that occours daily. When hair is put in any type of extension technique for a length of time this process occurs all at once upon removal and clients be reassured that this is entirely normal.

Styling and Aftercare
Wash hair in mild shampoo with low P.H. If possible. Use a patting and blotting method of washing and drying to avoid loosening the extensions. The scalp can be gently massaged but do not rub too vigorously. Avoid the use of heavy conditioners, which can leave residue at the scalp and can also cause the ring extenensions to slip out of the hair. Use sparingly near theroots. Leave in conditioners are ideal.

End Of Unit Test and Course Review

If client experience excessive pulling or tightness on the scalp it is useful to rinse the whole head in warm water. This will loosen the extenensions. Excessive tension persists it is advisable to remove the extenensions. Excessive tension is damaging to natural hair growth and in extreme cases can cause hair loss or breakage.

Any tools, kits and materials needed will be provided by Creative Hair for the duration of the course and will be available to students. These remain the property of Creative Hair unless paid for. Each course outline will stipulate the term.

Shedding

On aaverage, a person loses approximately 100 hairs per day – this is called shedding ( this is the natural way of losing hair to allow new hair growth. We tend to shed when combing/brushing our hair.

Shedding is also more noticeable after removal of hair extenensions when hair has not been combed or brushed for several weeks or months and causeeed an accumulation of Dead Hair that you would have lost if the hair had been combed or brushed daily.

Apart from natural hair shed, once hair extensions are left in for more than 3 months. Product build-up, such as : conditioners,gel,sprays and accumulated debris begins to entangle at the root area, making it difficult to comb out, which can cause damage to the natural hair, and cause discomfort for the client when hair is being combed.

Due to individual health reasons shedding can be more noticeable as "Breakage" because of either chemically over processed hair, Hormones, Climate or Medical reasons.

Traction Alopecia
All Extenensions technicians if not performed professionally can cause Traction Alopecia (Loss of hair due to tension applied to hair)
Traction Alopecia is caused by having too much tension on the scalp where the hair has been pulled too tightly, this is noticeable at the front hairline.
